Forget the idea that you have to choose between being an artist or pursuing STEM.

In this intensive, a collaboration between The C.O.D.E. Initiative and PoMoArts, we'll show you how these worlds intersect and make each other better. Get ready to code unique artwork, play with augmented reality, and use electronics to light up your creations. You'll learn coding with Processing and Java, experiment with AR effects, and craft art with LED lights. By the end of the week, you'll see how art and tech can work hand in hand, and learn to present your creations with confidence.

Where: PoMoArts Centre (2425 St. Johns Street, Port Moody, V3H 2B2)

Who can come: This workshop is geared towards teens ages 13-17

Technology you will learn: Learn principles of art, Java, 2D Animations, Arduino circuitry, Artificial Intelligence + Artificial Intelligence Ethics, and Augmented Reality.

Number of sessions: 5 x 4-hour sessions

Prerequisites: None! This class is for those who are passionate about art and tech and are looking to learn.

Materials needed: Materials will be provided, if you’d like please bring a snack and a water bottle.
