Advanced 1 Coding Workshop (January 15, 18, 19, 22, 25, 26)
WHAT ARE C.O.D.E. WORKSHOPS?
The C.O.D.E. Initiative workshops are for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) aged 8-17. This initiative is led by students from The University of British Columbia. Through this program, we hope to inspire students with ASD to explore their immense potential. The workshops provide a fun and interactive space to practice the applications of programming through creating Apps.
The advanced 1 workshops are for students who have either a) taken our beginners workshops or b) have previous experience with computer programming. These lesson plans will focus on the applications of the concepts taught in previous beginners workshops.
These workshops offer a 1:1 teacher to student ratio to provide students with a comfortable learning environment where they can develop their coding and problem-solving skills. This ratio ensures that students can move at their own pace to gain the most out of the tailored experience.
The workshops will be at the Westbrook Community Center, 3335 Webber Ln, Vancouver.
WHAT TO BRING?
Students are highly encouraged to bring their own laptops. The model or year of the device does not matter. This is so that the students can practice the application we teach in class, at home.
If however, your child cannot bring a device, please do tell us and we will accommodate.
We will be hosting our Advance 2 coding workshops in March of 2019. These advanced sessions are either for students already familiar with SCRATCH/coding or students that have taken the beginners C.O.D.E. course & Advance 1. Advance 2 classes will focus more heavily on a text-based language as well as more computing concepts.
*PLEASE DO NOTE:
The tax charged on the workshop is not government taxation. It is in place to compensate for the various transaction fee's we must pay for each purchase. However, if you are purchasing more than one workshop at each checkout, the tax will be more depending on the amount of your purchase. In that case, please email us and we will reimburse you for the extra charge.
